How To Win Card King

OVERVIEW

The objective of Card King is to tally the highest score possible.  When you start a new game, you’ll be dealt five cards, at random, from a standard 52-card deck.  Your first task is to select one of these five cards (choosing the highest or lowest card will make for an easier start).  Once you’ve made your choice, the game is off and running.
You’ll score your first points by correctly guessing whether the next card dealt is higher or lower than the card you started with.  If you guess correctly, you’ll be dealt another card and you’ll then guess whether the next card is higher or lower than that card.  Repeat until your straight of cards is “busted” by a wrong guess.  On the way, there are a variety of hints, Sidekicks, and “lifelines” you can employ to extend your straight and maximize your score.

 ENTRY COST AND PLAY LIMITS

Each day you may play two games free, plus up to 13 additional games for TCredits or EZ Express tokens

PLAY/WIN LIMIT

Play at http://bit.ly/2jfexKz

You may play a maximum of 15 times each day.

WINNING THE ZACKPOT

To win one on more shares of the daily Card King Zackpot, you must post one of the 100 highest scores of the day.  Those posting a top 10 score will receive 5 shares each of the Zackpot.  All others will receive 1 share of the Zackpot.  Note:  In the case of a tie, the least time between the start and finish of the game will be the tiebreaker.

TIME LIMIT

For each Feature Card you are dealt, you have a maximum of two minutes to decide whether to guess higher, lower, or pass.  When there are 20 seconds left, your remaining time will be displayed immediately above the Feature Card.  Have sound set to on to also receive a audio cue when you’re down to the final 20 seconds.

HINT CARDS

When the game starts, you’re dealt five cards at random (nearly 10% of the 52 cards).  These cards are valuable because they let you know which cards are already out and can help you make smart choices when deciding to guess higher, lower, or to pass.

PEEKS

Three free Peeks are provided each game (see Peek button on right side of Feature Card).  Peeks will literally count the cards for you and let you know how many cards are left in the deck that are higher and lower than the Feature Card.  This is valuable information that can help you navigate some of the tougher choices, so use your Peeks wisely.

PASSES

You are allowed to pass on up to three cards per game (see Pass button on right side of Feature Card).  You can pass on any card, but you’re best served to use them when the odds of successfully choosing the next card correctly are low.  Note that no points are scored when passing.  The first and second pass costs 1 TCredit each.  The third and final pass costs 2 TCredits.

DUPLICATE CARD BONUS

The Duplicate Card Bonus is for players who have used at least one TCredit in a game.  Here’s how it works: If you guess higher or lower but instead are dealt the same card as the Feature Card, not only do you earn the points of your guess, but you get to spin for a bonus prize!  Prizes include MRP (Member Rewards Points), TCredits, EZ Express tokens, and Card King Bonus Points (which are added to your current game’s score).  Additional prizes are available for SFI affiliates.
The spin wheel will automatically appear when you are dealt a duplicate card.  If you win a prize with your spin, it will immediately be added to your account.  Note: If you are dealt the King four times in a row, you will win the King’s Ransom (see below) instead of a Bonus Prize Spin.

KING’S RANSOM

The King’s Ransom represents a a special secondary Zackpot (though it has the potential to get large).  It starts at 100 TCredits, but grows until someone wins it. You’ll win the King’s Ransom automatically any time you are dealt all four Kings in a row, in any game where a TCredit has been spent.  The TCredits prize will immediately be added to your account, it is then reset to 100 TCredits and starts growing again until the next person is dealt four Kings in a row.

INTERMISSION SCREEN

On the screen that is displayed between cards being dealt, there are two important pieces of information provided.  First, it tells you how much farther you need to extend your straight in order to earn valuable Bonus Points.  Secondly, it tells you how many other Card King scores today your current score has topped and the rank of your current score.  Remember, to earn one or more shares of the daily Card King Zackpot, you need to finish with one of the 100 highest scores of the day.

CARD VALUES

Which card is considered higher or lower?  Following are the values used for Card King:
  • Ace = 1
  • Two = 2
  • Three = 3
  • Four = 4
  • Five = 5
  • Six = 6
  • Seven = 7
  • Eight = 8
  • Nine = 9
  • Ten = 10
  • Jack = 11
  • Queen 12
  • King = 13

STANDARD SCORING

Each time you successfully guess whether a card is higher or lower, you’ll earn the points as shown on the Higher or Lower buttons, ranging from 40 points to 240 points.  The amount of points reflect the odds based on a full 52-card deck.  Example:  If your Feature Card is a Jack, the odds of being dealt a higher card are much, much lower than being dealt a card lower than the Jack.  The lower the odds of success, the more points you’ll earn…and visa versa.  However,  remember to keep in mind that these point values are based on a FULL deck, so be sure to factor in the cards out of the deck (shown on the black panel) when deciding whether to guess higher or lower.

BONUS SCORING

If you are able to put together a straight of at least 7 cards, you will earn Bonus Points as follows:
  • 7 card straight = 200 Bonus Points
  • 9 card straight = 250 Bonus Points
  • 12 card straight = 325 Bonus Points
  • 15 card straight = 425 Bonus Points
  • 20 card straight = 600 Bonus Points

THE JOKERS

Card King enjoys the presence of a two Jokers.  One is nice…and one is naughty!  The nice joker will pop up from time to time and will help you when you need him most.  The naughty joker, on the other hand, likes to play mean tricks on people, so beware.

MISCELLANEOUS TIPS

1. Be sure to try Card King with the sounds effects ON to really bring the game to life.  You’ll find the on/off button on Card King’s homepage and on the gold sidebar during play.
2. On the screen between cards being dealt, you can press the “Enter” or “Return” key on your computer’s keyboard to proceed (you don’t have to click on the “Deal next card” button if you don’t want to).
3. On the game start screen, we feature the avatars of today’s top players.  But if you haven’t yet created and uploaded your avatar, you won’t get to be featured.
4. Almost every element on the playing board has a tooltip.  Hover your mouse over elements to see the clarifying tooltips info.
5. The tiebreaker if your score is tied with another is the time from when you start the game until your straight is busted.  So while you don’t want to rush your decisions, don’t waste time either.
6. Sidekick #4 is a great way to help post a big, Zackpot-winning score.  You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, but the real key is to use it when there are big points at stake, so that you may quadruple (4x) those points.
7. Sidekick #1 is free and should always be used on every game.
